Four Seasons, ONE Wreath!

Never buy another door wreath again!

Who doesn’t love a nice door wreath? I know I do! But what I don’t love is having to buy a new one for each season. Sure I could keep the same wreath all year long but that’s B-O-R-I-N-G! Especially when the solution is as simple as a visit to the dollar store!

22″ Cedar Wreath
REPURPOSE YOUR WREATH

One winter, I purchased this simple 22″ artificial wreath at Target. Winter came and left and the wreath was still on the door. It wasn’t until a friend was set to visit that I remembered the wreath was even on the door. In an attempt to impress, I decided to update my wreath.

I went to my local Dollar Tree and bought some artificial flowers. Using a wire cutter, I cut the stems to about 2 maybe 2.5 inches. I stuck the flowers into the base, or frame, of the wreath and just like that, a new wreath was born! I repeat the process for each season. Simply pull the old flowers out and put in new ones. The one drawback for my wreath, in particular, is that the wreath can give off an autumn/winter vibe depending on how you look at it. Personally, I can overlook the cedar and pinecones. After all, they’re only potentially an issue in the spring/summer months. If you plan to try this seasonal wreath hack, perhaps you can start with a simple generic wreath, without pinecones. Consider also a different type of wreath, such as boxwood.

Boxwood Base

IMPORTANT: This will not work with a wire base wreath. Note that I used a wreath with a grapevine base. Other bases include foam and straw. I have not tried those bases but they should also work. If you try anything other than a grapevine base, please share your results.
